Lula Lucille Heape

Lula Lucille Heape, 92, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:57 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Lula had worked as a clerk at True Value for fifteen years.  She was a graduate of Du Quoin Township High School.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and Euzelian Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.
She was born April 2, 1916, at Tamaroa, the daughter of William Henry and Clara Elizabeth (Schroeder) Pierce.

She married Alva Ivan Heape on August 28, 1937, at Perry County,  and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1978.

She is survived by three daughters - Jacqueline Siefert and husband Tom of Du Quoin, Jane Ford and husband Bruce of Nashville, and Sandy Parker and husband Lou of Simpson, seven grandchildren - Sabrina Miller and husband George, John Siefert and wife Sydney, Eric Siefert and fianc Haley Rives, Amber Ford, Jennifer Stamps and husband Tim, Mike Parker and Molly Parker, two great grandchildren, Lauren Miller and Kate Siefert, and one sister-in-law - Helen Pierce of Du Quoin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers - Luther Pierce and Kermit Pierce, three half sisters - Nellie VanHoorebeke, Floy Duckworth, and Rachel Manis, and two half brothers - Jack Lyle Pierce and Roy Pierce.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Steve Bareis officiating.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life or the Euzelian Sunday School Class and will be accepted at the funeral home.
